统计数据 is the applied science of making decisions from data. The curriculum emphasizes the use of probability modeling to design efficient data collection schemes and to extract the maximum information from resulting data, using state-of-the-art computer software.

In addition to a solid set of courses in statistics, students take supporting courses in mathematics, 计算机科学, and technical writing and are encouraged to pursue a minor in science-oriented disciplines.
